What is molecular imaging?

Molecular imaging is a type of medical imaging that provides a detailed picture of what is going on in the body on a molecular and cellular level. In contrast to classic X-ray images, CT and MRI examinations which provide images of the anatomical structure, molecular imaging can enable doctors to see how the body works and measure its chemical and biological processes.

In nuclear medicine, diseases can be diagnosed or assessed using a very small amount of a radioactive drug (so-called "radiotracer") based on molecular imaging.

The radiation emitted by the radiotracers is recorded by special cameras that provide very precise images of the area of the body being imaged. The radiation exposure in a typical PET examination is comparable to that in a diagnostic X-ray examination. If you need more detailed information, please contact us at any time.

Production and production of radiotracers

Radioactive diagnostics are medicinal products such as "normal", non-radioactive medicinal products and are therefore subject in principle to the same legal provisions and requirements regarding quality, effectiveness and safety.

The GMP-compliant production of the radiotracers sold by Life Radiopharma f-con takes place both at the Life Healthcare Group's own production sites and at external partners. All manufacturing facilities have a manufacturing license in accordance with §13 AMG.

Thanks to our network of several production sites, spread all over Germany, we can assure you of a delivery using the so-called backup process, even if a production should fail. Through intelligent delivery planning, routes and delivery times to our customers can be kept short.
